Dorruth Boyd, a native Texan, has been a faithful member of North Park CME church for about 50 yrs. She has served as an Usher for 34 yrs and has been the Vice President of the Usher Board for last 4 years. She has also served as Stewardess for 28 yrs. She’s advisor and mentor to the Youth and Young adult ministry. Dorruth is also the founder of Kennedi Kare, a ministry that provides care to families who are grieving from loss. Dorruth received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1983 from University of Texas at Arlington. She received her Master in Health Education in 1993 and Masters in Nursing in 2004 from Texas Women’s University, Denton, TX. She has worked as a Pediatric RN for 25yrs and Nurse Practitioner for 21 yrs. She currently works at Head Start of Greater Dallas.

About the Award:
The Award was established in 2002 with Sis. Flossie Dixon being named as the first receipent, having met all of the criteria outlined below. Sis. Dixon has been an outstanding Stewardess, Missionary and Usher for more than 50 years. Thus, this Annual Award bears her name.
The criteria for the Award is as follows:
- Church member for at least 10 years
- Regular church attendee
- Exhibits Christian behavior
- Supportive with financial contribution
- Regular attendance for church meetings, Bible Stydy, etc.
